We are now looking for a Senior Safety Engineer who wants to join our team in Trondheim.
In the developing energy mix, commercial risks are as prominent as technical risks, and our consultancy will provide broad multi-faceted advice to our customers. This developing market, coupled with an unprecedented demand for our execution experience, means that we are looking to grow our consultancy team with technical, consulting and commercially minded individuals who can help us meet the challenge of a just and orderly energy transition.
What will you be doing?
- Perform or own design safety reviews and assessments, such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and WEHRA.
- Identify and implement relevant requirements for technical safety and develop safety philosophy in projects and studies.
- Design and evaluate need for area classification, emergency shutdown and pressure protection, active and passive fire protection, escape and evacuation means, fire&gas detection, etc.
- Perform or own Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRA) and perform qualitative risk assessments.
- Review and comment on vendor data.
- Mentor younger engineers
- Work both as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, and on studies performed for the Client.
- Work in studies and projects across in all project phases, from Feasibility and Concept to Detail Engineering and Operation/Modification.
- Work with Carbon Capture Storage and Utilization (CCUS), hydrogen, ammonia, low-carbon O&G, offshore wind, synthetic fuel production, and more
- Be part of shaping the future of Aker Solutions Consultancy services
We think you should have:
- Master’s degree (or higher) within engineering, preferably with subjects related to one or more of the following fields: process design and process safety, thermodynamics, risk analysis and risk management or physics.
- 5-10 years relevant experience from technical safety related work. Candidates with more/less experience will also be considered.
- Experience with technologies and processes related to CCUS, ammonia, hydrogen, oil&gas, or synthetic fuels is preferred.
- It is an advantage if you have knowledge within the following:
- External environment studies, like BAT, ENVID, LCA and Carbon Footprint
- Environmental Budgets, BAT, Energy and Resource budgets.
- Working environment factors and noise abatement.
- A will and ability to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge, and a will to share from your knowledge and experience.
- Have a cooperative mindset and ability to translate customer challenger into solutions.
- Ability to work structured, have strong work ethics and be a positive contribution to our office environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and oral. Norwegian/Scandinavian language is an advantage.
